Niki Metzger: Art Teacher Extraodinaire

Niki Metzger is a recent graduate of Old Dominion University with a BFA in Graphic Design and Art Education. Niki is very passionate about becoming an Art Teacher, she loves coming up with lesson plans that her students are excited to begin. She loves helping the students through the various artmaking processes, from generating original ideas for their projects to writing a successful artist statement. Niki has no problem differentiating her lessons so that all of her students will meet with success. She also enjoys incorporating the core SOLs to strengthen her lessons and give them more depth. Niki was born to teach, a natural with the children and an enthusiasm for teaching. She easily communicates her ideas to her students and her colleages and is always willing to work with others. She prides herself on being a life long learner and would like to establish this same value in her students. Through the lessons Niki teaches her students will learn about art history, modern art and artists, important subjects and issues according to our times and the various art mediums the students can use to communicate their ideas.
